Nestegg - I am thinking this has to do with legacy. The software defaults the plan to not have a legacy goal however, there is a 5 year buffer built in to keep a plan from running out of money with the unknown risk in the future (essentially, as the plan progresses near the end of a plan, the software pushes it out another 5 years). If talking about legacy values, there are a few areas where legacy is handled a bit differently. Legacy Amount when testing a plan, this is the investment portfolio assets remaining and available for legacy needs at the end of a given plan in a given test scenario. If looking at Total Net Legacy in the Tax Lab - here is an article that goes into detail on explaining this: What is Total Net Legacy?. When looking at Life Hub or Tax Lab legacy at end of plan, keep in mind these are straight-line appreciation models so spending never adjusted. Here is a link that goes into more detail on why they will see higher legacy amounts in these areas of the platform.
